The Hidden Root works because visitors and sellers are honest with each other. These are the rules for reviews and reports.
Writing a good review
Write about a visit you actually made. Say what you found, how fresh it was, whether the stand was easy to find, and how payment went. Be specific, fair, and focus on your actual experience with the stand and its products.
Please don't
- Review a stand you've never visited, or write on someone else's behalf
- Post someone's address, phone number, license plate, or other private information
- Use slurs, threats, harassment, or sexual content
- Advertise your own business, post links, or post spam
- Post something because of a personal dispute unrelated to the stand
- Submit the same review repeatedly, or use multiple submissions to push a rating
How moderation works
Every review is held for review before it appears publicly. We approve reviews that follow these guidelines, decline the ones that don't, and may remove an approved review later if a problem comes to light. When a review is removed, the stand's rating and count are recalculated. We keep an internal record of moderation decisions.
Sellers and reviews
Sellers can see approved reviews of their own stands and can flag one for us to look at. Sellers cannot approve, edit, or delete a review, and a negative review will not be removed simply because the seller asked.
Reporting
Anyone can report a stand for incorrect information, a stand appearing closed, inappropriate content, suspected fraud, a safety concern, or something else, and anyone can report a review. Reporting is not an instant takedown — a report goes to a person for review, and nothing is hidden or suspended automatically. Reporter identity is never shown to the seller or to the public. Please don't file repeated or bad-faith reports.
Safety concerns come first
If a report describes a real safety risk, tell us in the detail box and we'll prioritize it. In an emergency, call 911 first.
