The Hidden Root lists stands and what sellers say they have. We don't grow, make, handle, inspect, certify, or sell any of it. Every transaction is directly between you and the seller.
Check before you drive
Availability at a roadside stand changes through the day. Look at when the seller last confirmed availability, and remember that a stand may be closed or sold out when you get there. Hours are the seller's own, and weather and harvest change plans.
Getting there safely
Many stands are on rural roads with narrow shoulders, gravel, farm traffic, and limited visibility. Pull fully off the roadway, watch for traffic, keep children and pets close, and don't block a driveway or a field entrance. If a stand is on private property, respect it as such — you're a guest.
Food and product safety
Use your own judgment about raw, unpasteurized, home-canned, home-baked, foraged, and other locally produced foods, and about plants and animal products. Wash produce. Refrigerate what needs refrigerating. If you have an allergy or a health condition, ask the seller directly — ingredient and handling details on a listing may be incomplete. We do not verify claims like “organic,” “raw,” or “pasture-raised.”
What our badges do and don't mean
A Verified badge means we took a reasonable step to confirm the seller is a real person or business at the stated location. A Founding Seller badge means they joined us early. Neither badge is an inspection, a license, a certification, or an endorsement of product quality or safety.
Payments and cash
Bring the payment method the listing says the seller accepts, and expect that some honor-system stands are cash-only in practice. Be cautious about paying in advance for something you haven't seen.
Wildlife, weather, and terrain
Rural properties come with uneven ground, farm equipment, livestock, dogs, and wildlife. Wear reasonable footwear and follow any posted instructions.
